DTCCC WEEKEND MANNERS MODULE CLASSES

What are Manners Module Classes?
Our manners modules are designed to bring flexibility in scheduling to your training program. With busy work weeks it is often challenging to fit in a six week training session. With our new mini modules classes you choose the dates that work best for you.

When are classes scheduled?
Module classes are scheduled on most Sundays. Each mini module session is 3 weeks long and runs for one hour. Mini Modules may not be available every weekend due to other events scheduled at the Training Center.

Is my dog eligible?
Our weekend Level 1 modules are open to any dog 5 months of age or older, including adult dogs who have not taken a basic obedience class, and are not overly reactive to other dogs. The module classes are also open to our Kindergarten Puppy class graduates and our Level 1 manners class graduates who would like extra practice on particular skills.

How does the Module program work?
There are two mini modules in our Level 1 program, and one mini module in our Level 2 program. Each module will focus on a particular set of skills.

To begin the program you may start with either NOT NOW HONEY! or GETTING THERE & BACK.
See the descriptions below:

NOT NOW HONEY! - everyday self control
This three week session will focus on the "stationary" basics: Waits, stays, and leave it, lots of self-control exercises.  The first week will start with the basics needed to build those behaviors: attention cues, position cues- sit and down, teaching a release word, and building duration. The class will cover the use of a marker for correct behavior and reward method concepts.

GETTING THERE and BACK - the basics of moving
This three week session will focus on the "moving" basics: Primarily leash walking and coming when called. The first week will include basics needed to build those behaviors, attention, targeting, follow me.  The class will cover the use of a marker for correct behavior and reward method concepts.

For more advanced manners training....

OUT and ABOUT - beyond the basics

Skills you will need out in the real world, calling off or past distractions, leaving items on the ground, polite greetings, passing other dog-handler teams.
Prerequisite: Teams must have completed Not Now Honey and Getting There and Back,
Or- Basic Manners Level 1, or Basics for Puppies Level 1

What are the class fees?
